Lat. Long. lines

Write this in your journals:


Latitude: Imaginary lines, or parallels, that run around the belly of the earth. (FAT-itude).


Longitude: Imaginary lines, or meridians, that run from the top to bottom of the earth. (LONG-itude).


Absolute Location: "Grid address".  Latitude and Longitude lines cross each other.

Draw two spheres in your notebook.  On the first sphere, draw LATITUDE (FAT-itude) lines.  On the second sphere, draw LONGITUDE (LONG-itude) lines.
