Students, your projects are all due today, even though only one group will present.  I have already seen some of your finished projects, and I am THRILLED!  They look amazing.  Way to go YOU!  So gear up to present by practicing your 8 ways to give a good presentation, and have fun in the process.

Lat. Long. lines

Write this in your journals:


Latitude: Imaginary lines, or parallels, that run around the belly of the earth. (FAT-itude).


Longitude: Imaginary lines, or meridians, that run from the top to bottom of the earth. (LONG-itude).


Absolute Location: "Grid address".  Latitude and Longitude lines cross each other.

Draw two spheres in your notebook.  On the first sphere, draw LATITUDE (FAT-itude) lines.  On the second sphere, draw LONGITUDE (LONG-itude) lines.

Test and missing assignments

Students and parents, the Reading Check test results are in and you can see them on powerschool.  I invite and encourage anyone who scored a 14 (77%) or lower on the test to retake it in my classroom during powerup.

At this point, many of you having missing assignments to hand in to me, which means you might have to stay in during the next catch-up assembly!  I want you to get those in to me PRONTO so that you don't have to miss out on any more fun activities.  You might also have a zero on your scoresheet.  Does that mean you can't make it up?  NO.  You can make up a zero and you should!  Talk to me if you have concerns and I will be thrilled to help you get an A in my class.  :)
